1950

Asteno Bongini opens a small artisan workshop which gradually establishes itself as a producer of own-brand items.

1980

Asteno’s daughter, Rossella Bongini, together with her husband, Massimo Lotti, inherits the business, restructuring it and transforming it into an industry benchmark for reliability and quality.

1995

Ilenia Lotti, the daughter of Massimo and Rossella, who is now Product Development and Sales Manager, joins Effebi, her arrival coinciding with the decision to make the company’s acquired expertise increasingly available to high fashion brands in a bid to meet all their product development requirements.

2008

Asteno and Rossella’s son, Jari Lotti, the current CEO, also joins the company and for a number of years heads up production management, from ordering and monitoring raw materials to overseeing all stages of production, through to the finished product. Rossella Bongini, today administrative director, continues to play a key role in the company in terms of quality control and finished product logistics.

THE ART OF PRODUCING FINE LEATHER GOODS IS AN IMPORTANT PART OF FLORENTINE AND TUSCAN HERITAGE, CHARACTERIZED BY TOP-QUALITY RAW MATERIALS AND AGE-OLD ARTISAN TECHNIQUES THAT ARE HANDED DOWN FROM ONE GENERATION TO THE NEXT.

 

For Ilenia and Jari Lotti, their most precious legacy of all was the old workshop founded by their grandfather, a Florentine master leather craftsman. Thanks to the foresight of their parents, Rossella Bongini and Massimo Lotti, and their entrepreneurial ability, the company embarked on an ambitious industrialization project in the ’80s with passion and purpose, as the family management passed the baton to the next generation.

 

This winning management team was determined to invest in people, gradually assembling a specialist workforce highly skilled in the leather goods sector. Such dedication to training is highly stimulating for younger generations, who receive the training they need to work in a complex, fascinating profession.
